In the past, packaging “Canned Tuna” does not have a fancy design rather mainly focuses on product functionality. However, SEALECT, a subsidiary company under Thai Union Group (Thai Union: TU), has recently adopted a collaboration strategy. By becoming a partner to support the 3D animated movie "Stand By Me Doraemon 2" which was released in Thailand, SEALECT launches a special packaging collection as Limited Edition, with a total of 5 designs: Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo and Giant.
After the debut of the first movie “Stand By Me Doraemon” in 2014, “Stand By Me Doraemon 2” was released to celebrate Doraemon's 50th anniversary. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the animation in Japan and other countries have postpone and reschedule. In Thailand, it will be released on April 6. The making of a special packaging collection is the first time that SEALECT has accomplish in 29 years since Thai Union created the brand in 1992.
